BarryBarry is a qualified Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapist and holds a SCOTACS Graduate Diploma in CBT Counselling and Groupwork. He is also COSCA counseling skills certified and a member of the BABCP (British Association of Behaviour and Cognitive Psychotherapists). Barry has worked in a variety of both residential and community based treatment for addiction services. Since 2010 he has supported others to recover from by supporting them to address the comorbid symptoms that can accompany substance such as mental health issues, depression, anxiety, alcohol related brain damage, stress and social phobias.

He has experience devising and facilitating a group therapy sessions program using a cognitive behavioral approach. Besides CBT he has an extensive knowledge of recovery from substance misuse that includes the twelve step program, solution focused brief therapy and artistic therapeutic approaches. On a voluntary basis he has delivered presentations on recovery in hospitals, prisons and helps set up mutual aid therapy groups in the community to help addicts/alcoholics recover from substance abuse. Barry is passionate about helping to guide others to discover their personal goals and support them to fulfill their potential.
